Koi Kichi Group 2008 Annual
Koi Show Show
Co-Chairs Michael Starkey Tom Walker NEW LOCATION!
June 6th,
7th & 8th, 2008 We are now set for the first weekend in June, 2008, June 6th,
7th and 8th. It
is with great excitement and enthusiasm that the Dallas Koi Kichi Group (DKK)
is preparing for our annual show. We
are determined to make this show one of the premier gathering of Koi
hobbyists, water gardeners and vendors from across the country. Our show’s primary objective is to make
this event a valuable educational and social experience. The 6th Annual Koi
Show presented by the Dallas Koi Kichi Group is shaping up to be quite an
exciting happening. Whether you call
it an event, a Festival or extravaganza, it is two days of almost non stop
activities. Here’s how the two days of the
Koi show and related activities line up. Friday We start the show activities on
Friday night with a “meet & greet” for the Judges, Vendors and Club
Volunteers. Saturday The KOI show will
start at 10:00 am. At the KOI show site, there
will be a Blood drive, Arts and Crafts Vendors as well as Koi, Gardening and
Water Gardening Vendors, Bounce houses and KOI Judging going on all day
long. Seminars are scheduled in the
new Frisco City Library high tech meeting facility (directly adjacent to the
site) every hour on the hour from 10 AM – 4PM. Also featured is a “Farmer’s
Market” throughout the weekend during the day highlighting local crafts and
garden fresh foods. At 4:00 PM following the
judging there will be a koi auction. At 7:00pm, our Koi Show Awards
Banquet will begin at Mattitos private banquet room on the Square. There will be “Movies in the
Square” featuring family-oriented movies beginning at 9:00 PM. A giant 26 X 13 foot inflatable movie
screen will be located on City Hall Plaza adjacent to the show site. Sunday Sunday morning, starting at
10:00 am, the Judges will give “tank-side” critiques of the individual Koi
award winners. They will take
questions about the fish and explain why and how they made decisions on the
merits of the Koi. Following the
tank-side critiques, a koi/goldfish and equipment auction will take
place. Come join us! Enter your Koi, come to the
Banquet, attend the learning sessions or just tour the area and enjoy the Koi
